super follows

Beware Onlyfans, Twitter wants your business! Earlier in the year, Techspace Africa reported that the popular microblogging site was working on a new service called Super Follows that would allow users to charge for some of their content, as part of the many features it is introducing to monetize the platform. Now, app researcher Jane Manchun Wong has shared screenshots of what the upcoming Twitter Super Follows service may look like.

First, Wong’s tweet reveals that the Twitter Super Follows service will only be available to users with at least 10,000 followers who have sent out at least 25 tweets in the last 30 days and are above 18 years old.

The Tweets also show that the Super Follows service will come with bonus content subscriptions to newsletters, access to a community group, or a badge to show support, and appears to work like Patreon.

“Notably, “Adult content” and “OnlyFans” are mentioned in the category and platform sections,” Wong writes.

According to the screenshots, Twitter has also copied the estimated earnings slider from the OnlyFans dashboard in a bid to onboarding their clientele to the similar service.

Super Follow content may still appear within the regular timelines, but only subscribers will be able to view and interact with those tweets.
