remove follower

Twitter for web has a relatively new feature that allows you to remove a follower. Before this, you’d have had to block someone to remove them as a follower. The user won’t receive a notification and they can simply follow you again if they realize you’ve deleted them.

The “Remove this follower” feature isn’t available on the iOS and Android app.

How to remove a follower on Twitter

  1. Navigate to Twitter on any web browser.
  2. Navigate to the account of the person you want to remove.
  3. Select More (the three horizontal dots).
  4. Select Remove this follower.
  5. Click Remove to confirm, and the person will be removed from your follower’s list.

If you want to use the app on your phone to remove someone from following you, you will have to use the soft block, it entails blocking a user and quickly unblocking them so they automatically unfollow you.

  1. Open Twitter and tap your profile picture.
  2. From the dropdown menu, tap Profile, which will take you to your profile.
  3. Tap Followers and select the profile you want to block.
  4. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen.
  5. From the dropdown menu, find the people you don’t want following you, select Block (username), then use the same method to unblock them. The user will not be blocked and they’ll no longer be following you.
