Design and display

The all new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is available in 75.6×165.1×8.9mm, The display is a 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x Infinity-O display with 515ppi, HDR 10+ certification, and adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra was 166.9 x 76.0 x 8.8mm with a slightly larger 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x Infinity-O display. It also offered up to a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ certification. The display was protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

Camera

The new Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup which consists of a 108-megapixel sensor, a 12-megapixel, and dual 10-megapixel sensors. On the front, it sports a 40-megapixel selfie camera.

The new Ultra can shoot 4K videos at 60fps across all lenses including the front. It also has a 12-bit RAW file option and 100X Super Zoom.

The older Ultra features the same 108-megapixel camera alongside a 48-megapixel telephoto sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a ToF VGA camera. On the front, it also sported a 40-megapixel selfie camera.

Performance

The new Ultra is powered by a new 5nm 64-bit octa-core processor (Exynos 2100). The phone runs on 12GB RAM (LPDDR5) with 128GB / 256GB internal storage and 16GB RAM (LPDDR5) with 512GB internal storage options. It gets its juice from a 5,000mAh battery.

The S20 Ultra was powered by a 7nm octa-core Exynos 990 processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 in select markets) with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB built-in storage. It also came with a microSD card slot to support expandable storage up to 1TB which the new ultra doesn’t. It also had a 5,000mAh battery that powered the phone.

S Pen

Samsung’s new top-end model Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with support for S Pen, the older model did not.

“From drawing to note-taking to editing photos and signing documents, now you can unlock the power of the S Pen on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Use an existing S Pen from a Galaxy Note or Galaxy Tab or purchase an S Pen separately on its own or with a compatible case,” Samsung said in a statement.

Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is among the first phone from the Korean manufacturer to offer Wi-Fi 6E technology.
