gboard

Gboard will now let you paste recently taken screenshots right from your clipboard. I love Google’s Keyboard, it is one of the most versatile Android keyboards available on the Play Store today with features like built-in clipboard, search, quick translation, emoji, and GIF search while still offering an absolute minimal experience.

Spotted by Android Police, the feature is currently rolling out to Gboard users, it will automatically add screenshots you take to the system clipboard, working exactly like the snipping tool on Windows 10.

Here's what the Gboard clipboard image paste feature could look like.

Since last year, Google has been adding features to the area above the keyboard where suggestions usually appear, adding features like offering to fill passwords securely using the AutoFill API.

The report says the screenshot pasting feature will also be implemented in the suggestion area.

It is still such a shame though that Google scrapped the Search and share, feature which was my favorite feature on the keyboard.

In the past, you could search Google and share results right from your keyboard — anything from flight times and weather to news with an option to share the results, this was handy and needs to come back!
