pixel 5a kenya

As users wait for the Google Pixel 6 series, the tech giant decided to release another Pixel ‘a’ series device, the Google Pixel 5a. The series has grown to be a fan favorite in recent years thanks to being affordable.

After watching a few reviews of the phone on YouTube, it is evident the 5a is not a massive upgrade to the 4a series, in terms of build quality, the Pixel 5a retains the same look as the Pixel 4a with only a few minor changes. The chassis is now aluminum instead of the polycarbonate on the Pixel 4a and the colored power button now has a texture.

The screen on the new 5a is larger, by 0.1 inches but larger nonetheless. It’s a 6.34 inch OLED full HD+ display with a hole-punch cutout. One of the main caveats on the 5a is the refresh rate which is still capped at just 60Hz (coughs… iPhone), at a time when way cheaper phones like the Redmi Note 10 Pro offer 120Hz displays, the Pixel 5a could’ve had at least 90Hz! c’mon Google.

In terms of performance, the Pixel 5a (5G) comes with the same Snapdragon 765G chipset that was used in both the Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5, this chipset should be able to handle your day-to-day tasks with ease. Pretty sure you will also no face problems running games on the device.  You get 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage.

The software is made directly by Google so you have the best Android experience you can get on any device. This leads us to the cameras, Pixel phones have always run away with the crown for best cameras on an android device.

The Pixel 5a has the same camera setup as last year’s Pixel 4a 5G. This is a 12MP primary shooter coupled with the 16MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP selfie.

The Pixel 5a gets its juice from a 4,680mAh cell so you won’t be having any problems with battery life given the low refresh rate and clean software experience.

The Pixel 5a is also IP67 dust and water-resistant which was not in the 4a series.

The Pixel 5a (5G) is available in – Mostly Black – personally, I think it’s more green than black. is slightly less black than the Pixel 4a 5G if that makes any sense.
