You know when your girl visits and messes up your YouTube recommendations? or a friend visits and watches a show you were binging on screwing up where you left off? Well, yesterday, my Google TV received an update that lets you add and choose profiles to use and get a customized experience for each user. (Just like on Netflix).
This means your friends can each create their profiles and log into their entertainment apps without messing your flow up!
The feature was released back and lets you add different profiles to the media hub – here’s how you can add or remove profiles in Google TV.
“You can add more than one user profile on your Google TV and sign in to Google services with multiple accounts. Your media and activity sync across devices that you’re signed in to.” Google says.
Here’s how to add a profile to Google TV:
- Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of your Google TV homepage
- Hit Add account or Settings button.
- From Settings, find Accounts & Sign In and click it.
- Click Add account.
- Sign in using your Google Account username and password.
- Choose the subscription services you use and have an account with like Netflix and hit Confirm.
Remove or manage profiles
Important: If you remove all the profiles on the device, your device will be factory reset.
- From the Google TV home screen, in the top right, go to the user profile picture or initial and select Settings.
- Go to Accounts & Sign In and select the profile you want to remove.
- Select Remove
Remove account.
Remove your profile if you can’t use your TV screen
- On a phone or computer, go to your device in your Google Account.
- Make sure you’re signed in to the same account as on your Google TV device.
- Choose the Google TV device you want to remove your account from.
- Select Sign out.
