The Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) has released a list of television (TV) stations with the highest audiences in Kenya.

The latest Audience Measurement and Industry Trends Report Q2 2019-2020 ranks Citizen TV at number one with 48pc, KTN Home with 11.9pc, and Inooro TV with 10.4 pc as the most popular free-to-air stations.
Nation Media groups NTV was fourth with a total audience of 10.1pc a spot down from the last report.
To complete the top ten list, KTN News was 5th with 9.9pc, followed by K24 TV with 6pc, KBC with 3.3pc, Ebru TV with 3.1pc, Kameme with 3pc and Switch TV with 2.9pc.
Citizen TV, KTN, and NTV have for years on end dominated the viewership but the vernacular and niche TV stations have in the past few years started biting into the share.
According to the report, viewership in the country peaks during prime time 6 pm – 10 pm because it requires active visual participation which is not possible during the day.
In terms of viewers’ feedback, TV viewers registered overwhelming satisfaction with the content they watch on TV at 85pc.
Radio still has the widest reach with the following incidences for October, November, and August 2019, respectively: 56.0pc, 62.2pc, and 54.8pc.
