Avance Media, an African public relations and ranking firm, has published a list of its 100 Most Influential Women making history in Africa.
The list honors African women from varied backgrounds in business, education, diplomacy, philanthropy, entertainment, and media. It’s Avance Media’s third publication since 2019.
The list was compiled with the 2021 International Women’s Day theme in mind, which is “Achieving an equitable future in a COVID-19 world“.
The list includes women from 28 African countries “who are passionate about leading change and challenging the Status Quo”. They have climbed the corporate ladder, started their own businesses, or have been at the forefront of decision-making both locally & internationally.
Criteria for selection include:

- Personal accomplishments
- Commitment to sharing knowledge
- Breaking the Status Quo
- Being an accomplished African Woman

As you can see in the image above, the list of these notable personalities to be featured include but are not limited to: Presidents, Diplomats, Board Chairs, CEOs, Scholars, Chancellors, Politicians, and Philanthropists but must be individuals of distinguished personalities in their field of work.
The publication presents a key opportunity for these women to be inspired and also continue in their strides of setting global standards & records.
