The internet is ablaze this weekend after Netizens learnt of a Russian YouTuber named Stas Reeflay who was arrested by police for live streaming a gruesome video where his pregnant girlfriend died after Reeflay’s viewers paid to see her abused.
The thirty-year-old forced his 28-year-old pregnant girlfriend Valentina Grigoryeva into the subzero cold upon the request of a viewer, who paid him Sh 110,887 ($1,000) to see it.
According to the reports, Grigoryeva died of suspected hypothermia as Reeflay forced her to stay in the cold for a long time.
The man is said to have been earning from this prolonged case of domestic violence where he would abuse the girlfriend on the live streams. Instances include constantly- pepper-spraying her while she screams and cries, smashing a plate on her head while getting cheered on by the audience.
A couple of months ago a TikTok boy killed his neighbour on camera while his girlfriend filmed it.
Thousands of people have taken to social media to condemn these emerging acts of horror on cameras.

YouTube has denounced the footage and in a statement said: ‘We’re shocked to learn of this tragic incident. This kind of graphic content is not acceptable on YouTube.’
The account had been ‘terminated’.
A spokesperson said the account had been terminated and ‘the original live stream did not take place on YouTube’ and ‘we quickly removed reuploads’.
