Voluntary and self-employed Kenyans can now easily pay NHIF via M-pesa. The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) is a government corporation that provides medical covers to Kenyans over the age of 18 and covers inpatient and outpatient services, maternity services, cancer treatment, renal dialysis among others.
How to pay NHIF via M-Pesa
- Open your new M-Pesa app or SIM Tool Kit
- select pay on the app or Lipa na M-Pesa on the toolkit
- Choose Paybill and enter 200222 as the business number
- Key in your National ID number as your account number
- Key in the amount you want to pay
- Input your pin
- If the transaction is successful, you will get a transactional message from M-Pesa
