HP has announced its latest Envy laptop line, which includes a convertible that has been certified as the first IMAX Enhanced-certified PC. The Envy x360 15.6-inch convertible allows users to watch Disney+ movies in a taller ratio with DTS:X spatial audio. This laptop also promises exclusive remastered HDR content, making it an enticing option for movie enthusiasts.

Aside from the improved screen-to-body ratio, both the 14-inch and 15.6-inch Envy x360s have the latest processors, with the 15.6-inch version featuring AMD’s Ryzen and the 13th-gen Intel Core for the 14-inch model. These laptops also come with upgraded webcams that have manual privacy shutters and auto lock/wake features for added security. The larger two-in-one model also features an option for GeForce RTX 3050 graphics, which is an upgrade from the RTX 2050 in the older model. Additionally, it has up to 15 hours of battery life compared to the 10 hours of the previous version.

The Envy 17.3-inch is the lone conventional laptop in the Envy line. It shares the same camera, 13th-gen Core, and available RTX 3050 graphics as the Envy x360 15.6-inch model. However, it only has an extra half-hour of battery life (nine total) compared to the previous model. The Envy 17.3-inch also offers a 32GB RAM ceiling and an optional 4K LCD that will appeal to users who need to handle heavy-duty apps.

The Envy x360 14-inch has already been released, with a starting price of $850. The Envy x360 15.6-inch will be available before the end of April, with an entry price of $950. Those who are interested in the Envy 17 will have to wait until May, with a starting price of $1,150. While these updates are not radical, the IMAX-certified laptop is a unique addition to the Envy line and may be worth considering for those who prioritize high-quality movie viewing experiences. However, it is important to note that the OLED screen only offers a resolution of 1080p and not 4K.
