Huawei May Be launching A Phone With Google Apps

As a result of Huawei being blacklisted by the US last year, the smartphone manufacturer isn’t allowed to put Google apps on its newest phones, however, rumor has it that the company is set to release a new flagship with Google services inbuilt.

How? Huawei is said to be working on a re-release of an older smartphone that had the apps preinstalled. The much-praised flagship P30 is getting a remake called the P30 Pro New Edition this month, according to an announcement on Huawei’s German website. The move follows the P30 Lite New Edition that was released in January to get around the ban.

The original P30 series went on sale in April 2019, just before the US government put Huawei on its trade blacklist that blocked the company from accessing certain US products and services. This means that the series was allowed to ship with Google apps and Google Mobile Services (GMS) while all traces of Google are missing from the newly released P40.

There is still not much known about the P30 Pro New Edition, but it’s expected to come with upgraded features. The announcement on the company’s website states that the phone will be available for preorder for a limited promotional period between May 15 and June 30.
