Humane, a startup founded by ex-Apple executives, has unveiled its innovative wearable device, the AI Pin, at the Paris Fashion Week. This groundbreaking device is set to redefine fashion tech and offers a glimpse into the future of wearable technology.
What is the AI Pin?
The AI Pin is a screenless, standalone device and software platform built from the ground up for AI. It’s designed to weave seamlessly into users’ day-to-day lives. The device uses a range of sensors that enable natural and intuitive computing interactions.
Features of the AI Pin
The AI Pin is equipped with a mini-projector that takes the place of a smartphone screen, along with a camera and speaker. It can perform functions like AI-powered optical recognition. Despite these advanced features, the device is privacy-first, thanks to qualities like no wake word and thus no “always on” listening.
The device was demonstrated at a Ted Talk back in May by co-founder Imran Chaudhri, who previously worked on the iPhone user interface. He showed off a variety of sci-fi-like features, including the ability to take a call while projecting details on his hand. He also flaunted its ability to translate English to French using AI translation, in Chaudhri’s own voice.
Launch and Availability
The full details of the AI Pin will be revealed on November 9. The device was first publicly worn by supermodel Naomi Campbell at the Paris Fashion Week.
The Humane AI Pin represents a bold step forward in wearable technology. Its unique features and design are set to make it a game-changer in the tech industry. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach its full unveiling in November.
