how to become a tyrant

How To Become A Tyrant silently got released dropped on Netflix last week. The six-part docuseries takes a hard to grip approach to the history of tyrants in the 20th and 21st centuries.

The six episodes basically break down how to gain power and keep it by giving examples of the six most famous dictators of the past hundred years.

Each episode is unique as it concentrates on a different dictator, through archival footage, expert interviews, and animated recreations. The docuseries is narrated by famous Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage who gives examples of how other dictators managed to do what each “chapter” focuses on.

Interviews throughout the docuseries include experts like political commentator Andrew Sullivan and former U.S. secretary of state Madeleine Albright, along with firsthand accounts from people who lived under some of the authoritarian regimes discussed in the series.

Is how to become a tyrant any good? I’d say so, with a 7.5 rating on IMDB, the show is definitely made for a specific target audience.

Watch the most well-known dictators of the 20th century like Adolf Hitler, Kim Il-sung, and Muammar Gaddafi, and the patterns that repeat across time in their tactics and what make them, them on Netflix and judge for yourself.
