meta verified

Months after Elon Musk started charging users to verify their Twitter accounts via Twitter Blue, Meta is jumping on the bandwagon now testing out Meta verified.

Meta Verified

What is Meta Verified, Meta Verified is a new feature that Meta is testing on both Instagram and Facebook. This feature will allow users to pay $11.99 per month to have their accounts verified. Verified accounts have a blue badge that signifies that the account belongs to a public figure, celebrity, or brand. This feature will be beneficial for users who want to increase their credibility on the platforms and distinguish themselves from other users.

How will Paid Verification Work? Paid verification will work similarly to the current verification process on both platforms. However, instead of applying for verification and waiting for Meta to approve it, users will be able to pay a fee to skip the verification process, the account will be verified instantly, and the user will have access to all the benefits that come with a verified account.

“This week we’re starting to roll out Meta Verified — a subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, get extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you, and get direct access to customer support,” Mark Zuckerberg stated. “This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services.”

How to Get Verified on Facebook and Instagram

If you want to get verified on Instagram or Facebook, you need to meet certain criteria. In order to sign up to become Meta Verified, you’ll need to meet minimum activity requirements, be at least 18 years of age or older, and submit a government ID that matches the name and photo you have on Facebook or Instagram. You’ll also need to have a complete profile with a profile picture and bio, and your account should be public.

Once you meet these criteria, you can apply for verification on Instagram or Facebook. The verification will typically take a few days to complete. The feature will be live in Australia and New Zealand this week

Benefits of Paid Verification

Paid verification will offer several benefits to users who want to increase their credibility on the platforms. Some of the advantages include:

  1. Increased Credibility – Verified accounts have a blue badge that signifies that the account belongs to a public figure, celebrity, or brand. This badge will increase the user’s credibility and make them more trustworthy.
  2. Increased Reach – Verified accounts have more visibility on both platforms. This is because the blue badge attracts more followers and makes it easier for users to find the account.
  3. Prioritized customer support – Another benefit of paid verification on Instagram and Facebook is the prioritized customer support that verified users will receive. Verified users will have access to dedicated support teams who will prioritize their requests over non-verified users.
