Microsoft co-founder William Henry Gates III (Bill Gates) has today announced that he and his wife Melinda Gates have agreed to end their 27-year-old Marriage
The American business magnate, software developer, investor, author, and philanthropist posted on popular micro-blogging platform Twitter saying “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made a decision to end our marriage.”

The two have pledged to continue working on the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which is a nonprofit organization fighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world.
“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we can no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.” The Gates wrote.
Bill and Melinda Gates join MacKenzie Bezos and Jeff Bezos who got divorced in 2019 after 25 years of marriage.
The divorce set the stage for the transfer of some 19.7 million shares of Amazon.com Inc. to MacKenzie’s name making her the wealthiest woman in the world.
