Netflix has released a new feature called Profile Transfer that enables people using another user’s account to transfer a profile, keeping the personalized recommendations, viewing history, My List, saved games, and other settings when they start their own membership.
How to Transfer User Profiles on Netflix
This new, much-requested feature will roll out to all members around the world starting today. Users will be notified by email as soon as Profile Transfer becomes available on their accounts.
- Using a web browser, sign into the account that has the profile you want to start a new account with.
- Visit the Account page.
- Alternatively, you can find this option in the profile selection drop-down on your homepage.
- Select the profile you want to start a new account within the Profiles and Parental Controls section.
- elect the Transfer link in the Transfer Profile section.
- Enter the email address and password you would like to use for the new account.
- Follow the prompts on the screen to finish setting up the account.
To transfer a Netflix profile on TV,
- Hover your profile icon in the dropdown menu on the homepage
- Go to the “Transfer Profile” option and follow the prompys
Once we’re done transferring the profile, the new account will be ready for use!
