OPPO has been working on ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 for quite a while now. The company first released an Android 12 beta build for the Find X3 Pro shortly after Google dropped the first Android 12 beta at I/O 2021
Just like last year, OPPO users will be among the first to experience Android 12 as the company has confirmed it will officially unveil the latest ColorOS 12 this month that is based on Android 12.
The China-based company has confirmed that the latest version of the ColorOS will be officially unveiled between mid to late September.
OPPO is yet to officially reveal the exact launch date for the ColorOS 12 but given that it’s already the second week of the month and the company has just launched the OPPO Reno6 in Kenya, it is safe to say the company will likely unveil the latest version of its custom Android overlay towards the end of September.
Before OPPO announces ColorOS 12, the stable version of the latest Android mobile operating system, Android 12, will be rolled out by Google. OPPO had launched the ColorOS 11 just after the Android 11 stable built was announced and we expect the same to continue this year.
The new OPPO software is said to come with a new feature called ‘Cross-Screen Interconnection’, which is similar to the Huawei Multi-Screen Collaboration. The company is also tipped to adopt several new features from MIUI from Xiaomi.
The company has also confirmed that ColorOS 12 will give users more privacy controls and offer better transparency when it comes to data security.
