Smartphone giant OPPO Kenya has officially announced the release dates for its latest devices under the Reno Series, the Oppo Reno 5 and Reno 5 in the Kenyan market. The smartphone manufacturer will introduce the devices on February 22, 2021, which is this coming Monday.

The Reno Series will succeed the Oppo Reno 4.

The Reno 5 will be the first android smartphone to introduce an industry-first feature the AI Mixed Portrait –the first double exposure video effect for smartphones – and AI Highlight Video, an industry-leading feature that uses intelligent light detection to combine OPPO’s advanced Ultra Night Video Algorithms and Live HDR Algorithms to significantly enhance video quality in dim and backlit scenes.

How to Watch Oppo Reno 5 Live Launch

The launch event will be streamed live here from 10.00 am local time. Viewers will get an opportunity to win prizes that include two Reno 5 devices, an OPPO smartwatch, and two Enco W11 wireless earphones.

Perhaps the most interesting feature, the devices will introduce the ultra-fast 50W flash charging, according to Oppo, the Reno5 can charge from 0pc to up to 80pc in just half an hour and charge the device to up to 100pc in just 48 minutes. 

The Reno 5 comes installed with OPPO’s ColorOS 11.1 out of the box. ColorOS 11.1 is expected to bring all the key features from Android 11. The new version will include conversation notifications, chat bubbles, major improvements to the keyboard, rich UI customization, greater efficiency, unparalleled smoothness, and strengthened privacy.

The phone will be available in two colors: the “ever-changing color” of Fantasy Silver and the Starry Black.
