Design and Build Quality
I go on and on about design on devices, but I think the first thing you see when using your device is important. The OPPO Reno8 T 5G has a sleek and stylish design that is sure to catch the eye, going on with the old OPPO Reno series trend, the phone comes in two colors: Black Starlight (Midnight Black) and Dawn Gold (Sunrise Gold). Both colors have a shiny, metallic finish that adds to the phone’s premium look. The rear panel of the phone is made of glass, while the frame is made of plastic. The camera array is a hit or miss tho, with some saying it looks like an induction cooker and I can’t unsee it.
The device has dimensions of 162.3 x 74.3 x 7.7 mm (6.39 x 2.93 x 0.30 in) and weighs just 171 g (6.03 oz), making it the lightest Reno device we have held in the recent past. It is a very comfortable phone to hold and use.
Display
The display of the OPPO Reno8 T 5G is one of its standout features. It has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1B colors and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 394 ppi. The screen-to-body ratio is approximately 89.6%, which means that the phone has a nearly edge-to-edge display.
I don’t like curved displays but the OPPO Reno8 T 5G’s curve is so slight you won’t even notice it, plus I love that this means more screen estate and fewer bezels! speaking of bezels, they are symmetrical.

The phone’s display is protected by Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2, which is scratch-resistant and durable. The display also has a maximum brightness of 950 nits, which makes it easy to read in bright sunlight.

OPPO Reno8 T 5G Performance
This will be a fairly priced device, and in order to get to that price, OPPO cut some corners by powering the OPPO Reno8 T 5G with the Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm) chipset, with an octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 660 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 660 Silver) CPU and an Adreno 619 GPU.
Don’t get me wrong, the OPPO Reno8 T 5G will handle your day-to-day tasks like a champ, in our short time using it, we didn’t once notice any lag or stutter. However, this chip lacks some features like it is not capable of shooting 4k despite the phone having a high megapixel count camera.
It runs on the latest Android 13 and ColorOS 13 operating system out of the box and comes with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, along with 8GB of RAM. It also has a microSDXC (dedicated slot) for expandable storage and UFS 2.2 storage technology, which ensures faster read and write speeds when copying data.
Camera
Like I said, The OPPO Reno8 T 5G boasts an impressive triple-lens camera system, with a 108 MP, f/1.7, 24mm (wide), 1/1.67″, 0.64µm, AF lens, a 2 MP, f/3.3, 34mm (microscope) lens, and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) lens. The camera features LED flash, HDR, and panorama modes, and can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. The phone’s front-facing camera is a 32 MP, f/2.4, 22mm (wide) lens, which also supports HDR and panorama modes, and can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps which is enough for the average smartphone user.

Battery Life
In terms of battery life, the OPPO Reno8 T 5G comes with a non-removable Li-Po 4800 mAh battery, which can be charged at a lightning-fast rate of 67W wired, PD, and can reach 100% in just 44 minutes (as advertised). The phone also supports reverse-wired charging, which allows you to charge other devices using your device.
In conclusion, the OPPO Reno8 T 5G is a powerful and feature-packed smartphone that is perfect for anyone who needs a fast and reliable midrange device. With its large and vibrant AMOLED display and 108MP camera system, it is a perfect daily for most, add the fast charging capabilities and long-lasting battery, and you are set for a few years.
OPPO has yet to announce the price of the device, but stay tuned for a full review of the Reno8 T 5G here soon.
