Facebook is the most visited social media platform in Kenya with 51.25pc of Kenyans accessing the platform between March 2020 and March 2021 according to web analysis by Statscounter.

Twitter is first runners up with only 22.19pc social media market share. More Kenyans visited Pinterest compared to Instagram and YouTube with the report showing that 13.43pc of Kenyans visited the photo-based social platform while 7.03 percent visited Instagram in the same period.

YouTube and LinkedIn trailed with 5.42pc and 0.28pc respectively.

According to Statscounter, 62.04pc of Kenyans access the internet using chrome OS, 27.5 percent use Opera while 3.14pc use Safari and 1.42pc use Edge.

TECNO dominated the devices accessing the web in the period March 2020 to March 2021. Among the Kenyans who accessed the internet in the period, 22.9pc used a TECNO device while 17.95pc used Samsung. Oppo and Infinix followed closely with 8.24pc and 9.01pc respectively in the same period.

In general, the majority of Kenyans use smartphones to access the internet as the total web stats show that 69.66pc browsed the internet on mobile, 29.33pc on desktop, and only 1 percent on a tablet.  Android users dominated with 62.53pc with only 21.88pc using windows while a paltry 3.02pc accessed the web using Apple’s iOS.
