Telkom Kenya had the slowest speed score among mobile providers in Kenya during Q2 2021 at 8.17 as well as the lowest mobile Consistency Score (55.9pc) a new report has concluded.
Speedtest Intelligence® reveals Safaricom was the fastest mobile operator among top providers in Kenya in Q2 2021 with a Speed Score™ of 27.54 on modern chipsets a slight drop from a speed score of 29.80 in Q1 2021.

The report by Ookla’s dubbed “Q2 Market Report on the state of Kenya’s mobile and fixed networks” ranked Mombasa the fastest in mean mobile download speed at 32.12 Mbps up from 27.79 Mbps followed by Nairobi at 21.79 down from 24.60 Mbps, Kisumu placed third at 21.02 Mbps while Nakuru and Eldoret had 19.41 and 13.72 Mbps respectively.

In the fixed broadband category, Speedtest Intelligence® reveals Faiba was the fastest among top providers in Kenya in Q2 2021 with a Speed Score™ of 23.19 and the highest Consistency Score™ in Kenya during Q2 2021, with 43.9pc of results showing at least a 25 Mbps minimum download speed and 3 Mbps minimum upload speed.
Lastly, Eldoret had the fastest mean fixed broadband download speed in Kenya during Q2 2021 at 23.68 Mbps.
