Xiaomi has passed rivals Samsung and Apple to mark another major milestone as the company led all smartphone vendors in terms of sell-through volumes for June.
According to Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi managed a 17.1pc hold of all smartphone sales for June outpacing both Samsung’s 15.7pc share and Apple’s 14.3pc share.
A decade after launching its first smartphone, Xiaomi is said to have topped the 800 million smartphone shipments mark.
Counterpoint’s Tarun Pathak further states that Xiaomi performed quite well across Europe, China and India as smartphone demand in those markets normalized.
Xiaomi was also China’s fastest-growing OEM thanks to its Redmi 9, Note 9 series, and Redmi K-series phones. On the other side, Samsung is facing production issues in Vietnam which have negatively affected its shipment numbers.
The Chinese smartphone maker was recently named the world’s No. 2 smartphone maker by a report by market research firm Canalys finally dethroning United States manufacturer Apple Inc.

According to the research firm. Global smartphone shipments grew 12pc in the second quarter, led by Samsung Electronics with a 19pc share, and Apple at third place with a 14pc share.
