Samsung Galaxy S21 fe

I’ve been eyeing the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition) for over a year now, if you happen to follow me on Twitter you must have seen me yapping about it a lot and expressing my disappointment with every delay it had.

Samsung today officially released the Galaxy S21 Fe which features some flagship-level specs borrowed from their Galaxy S21 like the Snapdragon 888 chipset and 120Hz AMAZING display, but I’m no longer interested in it, here’s why.

First, after what seems like an eternity, Samsung finally lifted the covers off the highly-anticipated Galaxy S21 FE a tad bit too late in my opinion, should the device have come before devices like the Pixel 6, I would have run to get one myself.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Pricing & Availability

I mainly wanted to get the S21 Fe after using the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, the idea of getting these flagship specs at a much lower starting price from a new and not refurbished device excited me, I was ready to embrace the plastic back and low megapixels for that experience, however, the S21 Fe will start at $699 for the base 6GB + 128GB model, this to me at this point is just a little too much. The Samsung Galaxy S22 will be launching in a few weeks most likely and the S21 series will also see a price drop so, the pricing is confusing, factor in the crazy markups in this country and welp.

I know, I know, the S21 Fe has a larger 6.4-inch FHD+ 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, over the Galaxy S21’s 6.2-inch FHD+ 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. It even has a larger 4,500mAh battery that offers the same fast charging capabilities and an arguably better 32MP selfie shooter, this still doesn’t justify that price for me, Samsung should have stuck with the same specs, cheaper price, and launched earlier!

For everyone who wants to know,  the new Galaxy S21 FE doesn’t get the same telephoto camera as the flagship model. You get a 12MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera on the device but instead of a 64MP telephoto camera, you get a more modest 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 30x space zoom.

  1. I agree that the features and specifications of S21 FE is lower than the standard S21 but I think S21 FE is designed for those who wishes to buy S series smartphone but can’t afford to pay the higher price so S21 FE is cheaper than the standard S21 with basic features.
