South Africans can now pre-register for Disney+ for an introductory annual subscription offer which costs R950 ($63).

Disney is going to launch its Disney+ video streaming service in South Africa on 18 May 2022 at a cost of R119 per month or R1,190 per year.

This means users who pre-register get four months for free and only pay for eight months.

What Disney+ Subscribers Get in South Africa:

On the main Disney+ service subscribers will have access to Star Wars’ “The Book of Boba Fett”, “The Mandalorian”, and “Obi-Wan Kenobi” from 27 May.

In addition, the Marvel Studios series “Moon Knight” and Oscar-nominated “Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings” will both be available at launch.

The Disney+ service in South Africa will include the Star content hub when it launches, this means customers get to enjoy Disney subsidiaries such as FX, Freeform, Hulu, ABC Signature, 20th Television, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, and Hollywood Pictures.

They get to experience shows like Atlanta, Alias, Blackish, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grey’s Anatomy, Prison Break, The X-Files, 24, and Firefly.

Disney+ users will get up to four concurrent streams, 4K video quality for select titles, and the ability to set up to seven different profiles.

How to sign up for Disney+ in South Africa:

  • South Africans can visit www.disneyplus.com to pre-register
  • On 18th May, South Africans who have registered their interest will receive an exclusive offer link.
  • The introductory offer will only be available to those who pre-register their interest before midnight on 17 May 2022, ahead of launch day.
