Spotify is introducing a new feature to let you share podcasts with a timestamp, pushing out an update that has an improved sharing music process to allow for even better ‘music and podcast’ stories.
Now, shared episodes will start playing from any specified point, so you can listen to the interesting bit with ease.
How to share a podcast with timestamps
- Play the podcast episode you want to share,
- Click the share button at the desired timestamp.
- Turn on the toggle for timestamp as shown below, and share the link. When the recipient opens that link, the podcast episode will start playing from the particular time.
YouTube has had this function for years, and as more and more people switch to Spotify for podcast consumption, it’s a neat feature to share interesting moments of an episode with friends.
