playlist in a bottle

Spotify has just announced a new and exciting feature for its users: Playlist in a Bottle. This fun and interactive feature allows users to create a time capsule of the songs they are currently listening to, and then only re-open it a year later.

To use this feature you can then select from a variety of different “bottles” to hold your songs, including a bottle, a jean pocket, a gumball machine, a lunch box, or a teddy bear. Spotify users will then be prompted with a series of questions, such as “a song you need to hear live this year” and “a song that reminds you of your favorite person” to help determine what goes into their bottle.

Once the playlist is created, it will be sealed away until 2024, when users can re-open their bottle and be reminded of this precise moment in time.

“This is such a fun feature that allows our listeners to pause and preserve this moment in time, and look back at it again in a year to see where they were, what they were listening to, and hear the soundtrack to their musical memories,” says Jocelyne Muhutu-Remy, Spotify’s Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa.

It’s important to note that the Playlist in a Bottle feature is only available until January 31st, 2023, so be sure to make your selections before then. The feature is available here to users on both free and premium versions of Spotify.
