South Africa online student accommodation marketplace DigsConnect.com has partnered with Student.com – the world’s largest student accommodation website in a partnership targeting the growing number of students studying globally.

The new approach will provide a gateway for African students looking to access international higher education. DigsConnect.com will expand its presence to 30 new countries and 400 cities within the next 6 months while taking advantage of student.com’s strong international presence.

DigsConnect.com was founded in 2018 as a service targeting students and landlords matching them with suitable accommodation in universities and colleges. To date, the platform has connected over $65,000 tenants and landlords.

Speaking to the future of education news channel, Alexandria Procter, the co-founder, and CEO of DigsConnect revealed that it is an exciting time for the business known for a R12M seed investment round in 2019. This agreement with Seed.com comes on the back of an additional investment raise in 2021. He further pointed out how challenging the South Africa property market was over the past 18 months.”

“This partnership signifies a resurgence in the student accommodation sector.  According to Proctor, the primarily growth areas for DigConnect.com are Asia, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific. Proctor points out that the “diversified geographic representation gives us multiple seasons a year.”

Student.com founder and CEO Luke Nolan clarified that the reach and experience of DigsConnect.com will build a strong foundation for growth.
