The Phantom V Flip

Tecno, a renowned smartphone brand, is set to release its second foldable phone, the Phantom V Flip, through its premium Phantom brand. This comes after the successful launch of their first horizontal foldable, the Phantom V Fold.

Launch Details

The official launch event will take place in Singapore. However, the phone is expected to hit several other markets, including India and Nigeria. In fact, MTN, a Nigerian carrier, has already started accepting pre-orders. These pre-orders are more like registrations and are valid until September 27, which is presumably when open sales will commence in Nigeria.

Design and Features

The Tecno Phantom V Flip boasts a unique design with a circular display on the outside, located in the middle of the camera bump. This display appears to support an always-on display feature (clock), animated wallpaper, and some shortcuts. It’s unlikely that this display will run Android apps like other flips can. Instead, it will work with widgets.

Specifications

The main display inside the phone is reported to be 6.9” with FHD+ resolution, while the outer display is a smartwatch-sized 1.39”. The phone is powered by a Dimensity 1300 (based on Google Play Console data) with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The two cameras surrounding the cover display have 64MP and 13MP sensors, and there’s also a selfie camera inside.

The Tecno Phantom V Flip promises to be an exciting addition to the foldable phone market. With its unique design and impressive specifications, it’s definitely a device worth keeping an eye on.
