TikTok has now surpassed 2 billion downloads, mobile app analytics company Sensor Tower reported Wednesday. (April 29) shows. The 315 million installs it gained in Q1 of 2020 alone also reportedly give it the title of “most downloads for any app ever in a quarter.”

Tiktok Major Concerns
The app has, however, been on the spotlight over privacy concerns because it is popular with children and has the potential to be used by sexual predators.
Perhaps one of the major issues with the app, racism, Earlier this week two high school students in Georgia were expelled from their school for posting a racist TikTok video. In the original video, the teens poured cups of water onto a paper scrap labeled with the n-word as “ingredients” to make a Black person; the cups were labeled “going to jail,” “not having a dad,” and “robbing people.” Shortly after the incident went public, the teenagers were expelled from their high school in Carrollton
The app also has severe racism and TikTok have in the past admitted that it had suppressed videos by disabled users as well as LGBTQ users in a purported effort to limit cyberbullying.
There have also been multiple TikTok related accidents that have resulted in users losing their lives or severely injuring themselves while filming.
