Popular microblogging site Twitter is facing outages and glitches on both the website and the app. Thousands of users have reported the glitch to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

We’ve fixed a technical bug that was preventing timelines from loading and Tweets from posting. Things should be back to normal now. Sorry for the interruption!

Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform, showed nearly 25,000 user reports of outages.

Despite many users being unable to access their accounts, for those able to use their timelines #TwitterDown is trending.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Techspace Africa
