Twitter is testing out a new feature called Fleets, this is its new own version of what we call stories on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Snapchat. Users on the app will now be allowed to share fleeting thoughts every day, Fleets will last for 24 hours and then disappear.
Your followers will be able to see your Fleets at the top of their home timeline, anyone who can see your profile can find your Fleets.
“Fleets are a way to share fleeting thoughts. Unlike Tweets, Fleets disappear after 24 hours and don’t get Retweets, Likes, or public replies — people can only react to your Fleets with DMs,” Kayvon Beykpour, the product lead at Twitter, said in a tweet. “Instead of showing up in people’s timelines, Fleets are viewed by tapping on your avatar.
“Fleets can’t receive Likes, Replies, or Retweets but your followers can reply to your fleets via the Direct Messages feature. Fleets can be photos or videos with a text on top.
The trial of the new feature is only available to users in Brazil before being rolled out Worldwide.
