Perhaps the closest to an edit button, popular microblogging site Twitter is reportedly working on a new feature that gives users a useful Undo Send feature for a few seconds after publishing a tweet.
The feature is basically almost an edit button as it gives the user a 5-second window to recall or withdraw a tweet.

The feature was spotted by noted leaker Jane Manchun Wong, who is known for her feature discoveries in popular apps like Snapchat, Facebook, Skype, and Messenger.
With this feature, users can recall a tweet with a spelling error for instance. For a long time, users have been divided on getting an edit button to tweets and this seeks to address this.
I personally don’t mind the new feature, it’s the same as deleting your tweet really quick and adds no functionality to the app, if anything every tweet, which would normally appear the instant you publish will now take 5 seconds to go live.
Since the feature works in the same way Gmail does by allowing users to undo sending an email, I hope Twitter allows users to configure or turn off the “undo send” feature. On Gmail, users can configure the time period between five seconds and 30 seconds.
