WhatsApp is rolling out a new screen-sharing feature for Android phones. The feature, which is currently available to beta testers, allows users to share their phone’s screen with others during a video call.
This is a feature that has been available on most other video calling platforms and was much needed on WhatsApp.
How to use the Whatsapp Screen-Sharing Feature on Android
- Open WhatsApp and start a video call.
- Tap the More button (three dots) in the bottom right corner of the screen
- Select Share Screen. A prompt will appear asking if you want to start recording or casting with WhatsApp.
- Tap Start Now to begin sharing your screen.
The recipient of the screen share will be able to see everything that is displayed on your phone’s screen. They will also be able to interact with your screen, such as by clicking on links or dragging and dropping objects.
The screen-sharing feature is not available on all versions of Android. According to WABetaInfo reports, WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.23.11.19 update is allowing some beta testers to try out the screen-sharing feature.
The WABetaInfo report also states that this screen sharing feature may be unavailable on old versions of Android; may not work in large group calls, and the recipient may be unable to get the content of your screen in case they are using an outdated version of WhatsApp.
The screen-sharing feature is a great way to collaborate with others or to give someone a live demonstration of something on your phone. It is also a great way to troubleshoot problems with your phone or to get help from someone who is more knowledgeable about technology.
If you are an Android user, be sure to keep an eye out for the screen-sharing feature. It is a great new way to use WhatsApp and it is sure to be a popular feature.
