oppo reno 5

Smartphone giant OPPO Kenya officially unveiled its latest devices under the Reno Series, the Oppo Reno 5 and Reno 5 in the Kenyan market a few weeks ago, after using the Reno5 for a month or so now? Here are two reasons why I really think you should buy this smartphone.

1. Battery & Super Fast Charging

You probably already know all the Reno5 specs on paper, if not click here. One of these is the support for up to 50W flash charge. The Reno5 is powered by a 4310mAh battery which charges from 0-100 pc in 48 minutes.

To put this into context, my Galaxy M30s charges from 0-100 in 2hrs 20 mins using Samsungs 15W fast charging.

so it charges so fast, it must deplete just as fast? On a full charge, the Reno5 never run dry on me, the phone would finish my day with about 20pc with up to 7hrs on screen time. If you want a device that you never have to worry about Kenya Power shenanigans, this is definitely your phone.

2.Camera

I  was tempted to choose the AMOLED, 90Hz refresh rate screen that comes on the device as my second favorite feature, but let me tell you about the Cameras.

The Reno5 sports a 64-megapixel quad-camera setup at the back, you get a wide-angle, macro, and depth, at the front, the device has a 44-megapixel selfie shooter which is also quite impressive, Like I said earlier, the trademark Oppo beautification option is quite annoying but that can be turned off.

While shooting with the main camera, you can expect dazzling realistic photos to be churned out no matter how tricky your shooting conditions are. Colors are perfectly captured so your more vibrant subjects will look just as dazzling on your screen as they do in real life, moving subjects are handled expertly and the portrait mode is also a winner as usual

The night mode on this phone is impressive, once again you get glorious results when shooting at night, pictures come out very close to what you’ll see with the naked eye.

If you’re an explorer, sideloading the GCam app on the device brings even better quality photos as it brings Google’s image processing to the Reno5, you can learn about that here

Here are some photos I’ve taken with the Reno5.

So there you have it, you can order the Reno5 at any OPPO retail store countrywide and in online retail stores including JumiaKilimall, and Masoko.
