China’s Huawei Technologies recently announced that it plans to launch its own operating system dubbed Harmony OS for smartphones on June 2nd.in its biggest move yet strategically aimed at recovering from the damage done by U.S. sanctions to its smartphone business.

A new report has now revealed a list of Huawei smartphones that are expected to get the HarmonyOS update when it is released next month.

The list says all Huawei smartphone models that are powered by the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 710 to Kirin 9000 series processor will get the update.

  1. Huawei Mate X2 foldables
  2. Huawei Mate X2,
  3. Huawei Mate 40 series
  4. Huawei Mate 30 series
  5. Huawei P40 series
According to another report, The Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, Mate 40 RS, Mate X2, Nova 8, Nova 8 Pro and Mate Pad Pro will get the update.
Huawei will most likely reveal the timeline as to when its older phones will get the update on June 2nd.
The release of HarmonyOS will mean Huawei will no longer be reliant on Android. U.S. sanctions banned Google from providing technical support to new Huawei phone models and access to Google Mobile Services, the bundle of developer services upon which most Android apps are based.
