Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has confirmed it is working on a 2021 model of its Redmi Note 8 smartphone.

Teasing the model through a tweet, Xiaomi also announced that it has sold over 25 million units of the Redmi Note 8.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 back in 2019, and we’re currently on the Redmi Note 10 series.

The company hasn’t revealed anything about the Redmi Note 8 2021 other than confirming the phone’s existence.

According to leaks, however, a Xiaomi phone with the model number M1908C3JGG was spotted on the FCC website. Leaker Kacper Skrzypek claims the FCC listing revealed that the Redmi Note 8 2021 will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor paired with 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone is said to pack a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.

Redmi Note 8 2021 will also run MIUI 12.5 out-of-the-box and is also expected to feature a 48-megapixel quad-camera and a waterdrop display.
