Competition is nigh and stakes are high in the smartphone camera tech scene as manufacturers try to finally crack under-the-screen tech, a week after OPPO revealed their new-gen under-the-screen camera tech, Xiaomi is set to debut its own in an actual mainstream device this week.

According to sources, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to show off its tech in the Mi Mix 4, launching on August 10th.

Agatha Tang, the company’s head of global PR, posted a teaser on Twitter touting the clear screen design without a notch or a hole punch.

A leaker called Digital Chat Station had also shared a video of the Mi Mix 4 on Chinese social network Weibo showing off the invisible selfie camera under the screen and a super flexible display.

The Mi Mix 4 will have a 4,500 mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging support and 80W wireless fast charging support if leaks about it are accurate.

While other companies such as Oppo and Samsung have only managed to showcase this tech in prototype devices. Xiaomi would be the second company in the world to debut this in a commercial device after ZTE, which has launched two phones with under-the-screen selfie tech.
