Xiaomi’s Mi Air Charge Tech, Just What is It?

Chinese multinational electronics company Xiaomi claims to have finally achieved long-distance wireless charging with its new Mi Air Charge. The company says the new wireless tech will be able to charge several devices at once at up to 5 watts.

While the giant smartphone manufacturer hasn’t delved into specifics like the exact Mi Air Charger’s range, the company has said the “remote charging technology” will be able to recharge a smartphone that’s being used, “while walking around or even when something’s in the way”.

Xiaomi has also said that its Mi Air Charge tech will eventually be compatible with smartwatches, fitness bands, and other wearables.

Xiaomi has not given out a release date for the Mi Air Charge system and while on paper the tech would be game-changing, we wouldn’t know its viability till we see one physically, however, it’s not even known if such technology will ever make it to the consumer market or if we could possibly ever afford it!
